Back in the late 80's and early 90's I used a vest then gave them up for a
waist belt/fanny pack system. If I am shooting where I am on the run now
such as at a football game or such I use an old Marine Corps web belt with
various pouches and lens holders on it. Carry film, lenses, light meters
and such on belt cameras on straps on shoulders.

The belt takes almost all weight off shoulders and makes for a much better
day of shooting. Learned to do this when shooting PGA golf, especially the
Masters as EVERYWHERE on that course is uphill. Don't know how the heck
they did that but it is true......

Plus with the belt system if I gotta run I do not worry about junk falling
out of pockets.

If you want to spend money on a system get the Lightware belt system. Looks
quite nice but it Ain't cheap.
