I couldn't agree with you more...that's why my fifty is the last Summicron
that came equipped with the reversible shade and, incidentally, the focus
tab!

Hi Buzz,

If only they could read you.... The current 50 Summicron is almost unusable
because of that. There is place to tape the shade and I am obliged to use a
UV
filter for protection. I can't understand why Leica did not provide a system
to
stick the built-in shade in extended position.
