Hee Hee, I like that... Seriously though, I figure if I'm going to go to the
trouble of making a beater look good, why not make it look the way I want
(the camera will never be worth anything to a collector)? As you may have
guessed from my last couple of posts, I have a line on a tired  DS M3 that
is pretty rough on the outside (cracked leatherette, corroded synch sockets,
scratches and a little brassing around strap lugs...etc), and will probobly
need a curtain replacement eventually, but the shutter is accurate, the
rangefinder is dead on and bright (there are acouple of hunks of...something
in there, but it looks as though they could be cleaned out..). The
rangefinder patch isn't as bright as I'd like, but it is certainly decent,
especially considering the condition of the rest of the camera. I think that
it would make a great second camera. I currently have an M6HM, and I'd love
to have the M3 just for the 90 and 135 lenses (or maybe a Noctilux, dare I
dream?). If I can get the right price on the camera, I'm going to make it
the way I want it to be, with M6 loading, and a really cool paint job...I've
given up on the blowers and flame job though....:-)
