along the same lines as buggy whips and wagon wheels. Also, with more
durable fabrics came longer lasting furniture, and consequently fewer
sales
of new furniture."

Don't forget that around this time that Scotch ( now extinct) Guard
became available .

Having been a professional upholstery cleaner for the past fifteen years
, I thank god that those plastic abominations are a thing of the past! I
would never be able to afford these damn cameras other wise!
