Subject: RE: [Leica] Adaptall Lenses, R4 and R8

Frank,
I believe there has been more than one type of adaptall adapter made, from
(perhaps) the original 1 cam Leicaflex, definitely through the SL/SL2 (2
cam) varients and latterly the 3 cam option, though I'm unsure whether this
was a three cam or an R-cam.
I had one of those and sold it, I currently still have another which is
solely for the mirror lens which doesn't have to worry about returning
aperture information as it's constant.
Hope this helps,
Jem

I am curious about the use of the Adaptall lenses on Leica R cameras.
If one had an Adaptall lens with the Leica R adapter, what effective cam
lens is this combo? 2 cam ? 3 Cam?

The adapter that was made fits the R4 camera. What happens if the lens is
used on a R8? Can you meter at full aperture? I assume auto diaphragm and
focus are fine. Is there some feature of the lens lost?
