Subject: [Leica] R8 Question

Hi all,

Wonder if you guys have seen this problem with the R8 with motor drive -

When you are done with the roll of film and you click the rewind button to
rewind the film, the drive do not run and the battery icon on the panel
keeps flashing. Note that the battery is full charged and all three LEDs on
the battery are ON when you check it. If you rewind the film manually and
put in another roll of film, the camera would still work but the camera
won't forward the film.

When this happens, if you remove the battery for a few minutes and then
re-insert it, the drive would run again. Note that simply removing and
reinserting the drive immediately would not work so this is unlikely a
problem with the contact between drive and camera. Re-inserting battery
immediately also does not work so it is also not a problem with the contact
between drive and battery.

This happens intermittenly - may be around once per 3 rolls. The R8 itself
was running perfectly until I bought the drive a few months ago.

If you have seen this problem before, do you know what is wrong and how to
fix this?

Regards,
Ken
