So, for those who desire automation and modern features at times but still
respect the time-honored attributes of the Leica M, I have a suggestion . . .
Buy a G2 Contax and a couple of lenses. What?! A Contax?!? . . . No, not as a
replacement for the Leica but as an occasional alternative. Look at it this
way, you can buy a G2 and two or three lenses for about the same money as a
Konica RF body (or for that matter another Leica body or lens). So next time
you have a hankering for a new Leica lens -- just to have something to
experiment with (admit it, you've done it) -- buy a Contax instead. Since
it's not interchangeable with Leica you won't be as tempted to use the two
cameras at the same time -- therefore you won't defile the Leica experience
with the Contax and such evils as AF or AE -- but you will have the
opportunity to satisfy your high tech urge from time to time. You could even
use it as your "cheap" system when you want to go slumming . . .
