Subject: [Leica] 4x6 the evil size

There is another problem with 4x6 that I found recently. Minilab
machines crop a significant amount of the negative all around the edges.
I talked to the managers of several labs and they say they have no control
over this. But when you order an enlargement you can get the whole frame
printed.
Nevertheless, I still need 4x6's. I get contact sheets made for
record purposes for my B&W shots, but even there I order a lot of 4x6
proofs. I just can't read contacts well enough to decide on enlargemnt
and cropping, even with a very good loop. 4x6's work well for that, with
a judicious look at the contact or negative.
