Subject: [Leica] A modest proposal.

I am afraid I have still not recovered fully from the injuries suffered
during the infamous Black Mechanical Watch thread. My doctor is convinced
that some modest revenge is necessary for a complete recovery. This, coupled
with the knowledge that I have not given anything away for awhile, and, that
the artsy crowd has been taking it on the chin lately, leads me to propose a
poetry contest for the Leica-users. First and only prize will be a Hanza
mechanical self timer for all of you who have M4-2 and up cameras and have
no way of getting your ugly mug in the picture. The contest will run one
week starting now (noon Mountain Standard Time in Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada). The only rules will be:

1) It must be about, however loosely, Leicas, their products or the products
of their products.

2) Ten lines or less.

3) It must be posted on the Leica-users with your full name (no R2D2s
please) and email address.

The judge will be my much beloved wife Janet and no one related to myself or
her will be considered eligible.

Good Luck,

John Collier

PS If any one thinks that rhyming Planet with Janet will bring home the
bacon, let me remind them, she has seen that movie and was not amused!
