Subject: [Leica] Veiling flare

Bonsoir Bert,

  You described exactly the sort of veiling flare I occasionnaly get with
a SM Summicron (with adapter) mounted on my M5.  This situation happens
with strong light source located on the side of the camera.  In fact this
may happen about once per film.  I had no clue as to what caused this. 
There is no plugged hole on the bottom part of the M5s shutter crate, but
your hypothesis makes sense (reflection from the bottom part of  shutter
crate) considering  the position of the flare...

  I ll go check my negatives...
