Francis H "Tink" Ewald died in Roanoke, Virginia, on 12th October. Tink
was a founding member of the Leica Historical Society of America and owned
the Ewald-Clark camera store, a Leitz/Leica distributor from 1949 until
1991.

Tink had been a Contax RF photographer before the War as he could not find
a store in western Virginia which would sell him a Leica. During the War,
he served as the unit photographer for the Engineer Battalion which
occupied the Leitz works in Wetzlar, and was a devoted Leicaphile thereafter.

He will be sadly missed by all of his many friends.
