'while singh does own a 24mm nikkor ... he usually ranges between 28mm, 35mm and 50mm....' 'singh shuns films that pep up color. india needs no such aid. he uses kodakchrome exclusively, 25 preferred, 64 when another stop of exposure is needed, and 200 when there is no other way out. a small flash unit is always along, primarily for fill flash, to brighten colors in the shade and, in emergencies, indoors.' as do many literate photographers, singh frequently brings up painters and writers he admires, drawing parallels between his work and theirs. the essay/interview is an interesting one, perhaps the only piece of writing i've ever seen that was dedicated to him. guy
