Wincing at the thought of my expensive film gear becoming paperweights, I
have to admit that I agree with your assessment of current digital quality.
 What causes much concern for me, though, is that all digital mediums are
so delicately dependent upon electrical current, and archiving is so
sensitive to complete oblivion in an instant.  I've had enough loss and
disappointment with digitized-computerized data already.  It would be nice
to have something 'real', something tactile to pass to the next generation.
