Still flared when I was taking pictures into a light source. I tried making a little shade. That didn't work so well for me, either. I use my finger now. I hold the camera in my right hand and focus with my left. If I get flare, I use my index finger on my left hand to cover the frame window while focusing. Once focused, let it flare!
