The 50mm F2 with the detent is a Dual Range Summicron.  If you go to the
range past the detent, and push on the auxilliary viewfinder (the "eyes), you
can focus on the close range.

Leitz had a plant in Midland Ontario, Canada, and they made a lot of Leica
lenses.
