That's my approach too. I don't like being encumbered by bags any more
than necessary.  It's obviously even more of an issue with R gear than
with M. My favourite all-purpose focal length is 35mm so that's the
lens I generally choose but, for a change of perspective, I'll
sometimes select a 24mm or maybe a 90mm, especially if I'm visiting the
same place for the second or third time. This forces me to look for
different opportunities and to see new possibilities.
