I agree completely.
Especially about the commodification and eye candy part.
I like a quick read as well, but I want more than that.
If its only good for one second and then turn the page and forget it - 
its not much of a picture. A quick read AND depth then you have something.

Your picture is not a GREAT picture - but its good - I like it.

There's not many GREAT pictures in the world. 
Only about .0000001% qualify for GREAT status.

Don't toss good pictures because they're not GREAT. And don't get caught 
up in comparing to this famous guy or that famous guy.
