Who said anything about not providing a replacement?  Of course they should,
that's the standard business practice of dealing with variability in the
world.  I never said a word to indicate that Leica shouldn't replace the
lens if the guy wanted it replaced.  I merely pointed out that he couldn't
automatically draw the conclusion that the "fault" existed because of lapses
in quality control.

Please do the courtesy of actually *reading* what someone writes if you are
going to respond to it.
