Pascal,

Do not forget the distributors and all their related costs*; and the
dealers, if you have a Leica lens on the shelf for three years, there is not
that much profit there at all. Probably why many places are willing to order
Leica but not that willing to stock it. A 100% mark up from the factory door
(no transportation either) price is pretty reasonable. Most things are
marked up more than that.
