Subject: [Leica] Leica 36mm filter is marked "CF" - what is it?

I have a 36mm filter (the kind with the little screw) that is marked
E.Leitz NY and "CF".

The filter does not appear to have any tint to it, and it
does not look dark enough for a Neutral Density filter.

I suspect that the "CF" marking is the filter type.

So - what's a "CF" filter?

Thanks
Vick
