Hello Brian,

I do respect your work and valuable time and resources devoted to
maintaining this discussion forum.

However, the first part of your posting above is a bit of a surprise to
me.

Yes, it may well be that the Leica name and history are mainly attached
to rangefinder cameras. But time has moved on since and the Leica reflex
line is well-stocked since about two decades. Lots of Leica photographers
on this list and elsewhere use the R system and often even both M and R.

So to say that you'd much rather see discussions in the LUG of non-Leica
rangefinders than non-rangefinder Leicas seems a bit odd to me (also this
does not exactly reflect the words in the welcoming message, see part 2
above).

Since this is a "Leica Users Group" I believe that all Leica users should
be treated on an equal footing as far as their systems are concerned. Of
course, it is fully within your right to interpret this differently but
then, maybe, the list's name should be changed so as to better reflect
this (e.g. in the sense of "Leica Rangefinder User Group" or LRUG).

Or, alternatively, may I suggest that the welcoming message of this forum
be altered so as to treat M and R on an equal footing and to give them
equal consideration? I think the latter would be a welcome move for many
current list subscribers !

Just my thoughts on the matter.
Kind regards,

Pascal
