Subject: Re: [Leica] More playing Doug Herr... Scanners

The scan of the Ox Cart was pretty much a straight scan - on the Coolscan
IV. The slide is exposed spot on - neither thin nor dense. I have found
that scanning dense E6 requires a bit of analog gain. This one dies and
turns muddy in Cibachrome, but the slide, on the denser side, snaps and
prints out great on my Epson 740.

Kodachrome scans are more difficult. This one required analog gain and an
increase in brightness.

I have tended to scan a bit bright because my printer (ordinary Epson 740)
darkens up a bit.
