No doubt to the amusement of many I will admit to owning a Leica pinhole
'lens'. This is a Japanese made metal, L39 gizmo and it came with a matching
chrome mounted multicoated UV filter. It was I was sorry to note a lot more
expensive than the Calumet version I learnt of too late. It is possible to
meter with this on an M6 in bright daylight and even take hand held shots
with it if you are steady.
Oh and the M is the perfect choice for such a pinhole: wider angle than the
SLR versions and of course the brightness of the viewfinder is not
obliterated.
Is it useful? Well, not very, but it is easier to transport than a black
taped cornflakes box and you have more exposures to play with...oh and the
bokeh is Summaresque. Nice with a deep red filter and SFX though. Try it!
