Mark, are you looking @ the voigt 21 or leica 21. a little difference in
price! both the 21 and 24 are superb, the 21 is more popular some how. given
the fact that you already have the 25, go for 21 asp.

Subject: [Leica] To go 21 or 24mm - advice/opinions please...

Dear LUGgers

I'm in a quandry - and I need your help! My outfit currently comprises a
single M6TTL 0.72 body and the following lenses: Voigtlander 15mm,
Voigtlander 25mm, 35 f2 ASPH Summicron , Voigtlander 50mm Voigtlander 75mm
and a 90mm f2.8 Elmarit.

If I think about how I use my outfit, I tend to use the 35mm and 25mm lenses
most, followed by the 90mm. Neither the 50 nor the 75 get much use at all.
The 15mm gets some use, but as I do mainly monochrome work, not being able
to fit filters to it limits its usefulness (I haven't tried the blu-tak
trick with a Cokin filter in anger yet).

I had originally thought about getting a 50mm f2 Summicron, but given the
way that I use my outfit, I am having second thoughts and feel that I would
be better off acquiring a wider angle lens to complement the 35mm and 90mm.

The sort of photography that I have been doing with the M6 is urban
landscape and archictural, some street photography (a new and quite exciting
departure for me) and portraits.

Now the rub - If I rationalise my outfit by selling off the Voigtlander
lenses plus two Bessa R bodies, I should have enough funds to get hold of
another Leica lens (hopefully new if I save my pennies as well), The problem
is, do I go for the 24mm or 21mm lens?
I love using the 25mm Voigtlander, but I would prefer it if the focusing was
coupled to the rangefinder. In my position, which of the two lenses would
you go for?

I look forward to your advice and comments

TIA

Regards
