These are >a tad heavier than "plastic" glasses, but noticeably thinner. It's difficult to get "glas" glasses in the US because of safety concerns. I agree that high-diopter eyeglass wearers should get the smallest lenses possible. My correction is over 7 diopters. If I wore the same frames I had 15 years ago, my eyes would look like fish swimming in fish bowls! Byron.
