Most tanks will handle more than the "required" amount of solution.... The
limitation is the size/capacity of the tank?

Solutions that adjust time for more dilute solutions, are taking advantage
of some form of compensating development as well as "normal"
development.....While a perfectly good solution, the results are different
than increasing the solution volume.

Another solution is to dilute in some proportions that gives you the
required volume of syrup per roll. You must then experiment to find the
correct development time and ASA for this combo.

The problem is very common in JOBO development where the max capacity of the
motor prevents more than 600mL ( or 1L) of solution in the tank.
