I have made the trip many times, and can recommend Don
Dory's suggestions, with some others. Wapakoneta has the
Neil Armstrong space museum (short stop). You will be
spending lots of time in Dayton due to the construction
traffic. Stop at the pioneer village.
South of Dayton the highway patrol says they will have
heavy speed enforcement because of some recent accidents.
Lebanon has the Golden Lamb Restaurant, and an interesting
little historical society museum.
The Cincinnati Art Museums are free this summer, and have
art ranging from contemporary to Assyrian. Don't forget the
Maisonette, one of the few five-star restaurants in the
country, and worth a side trip, according to Mobil (and me).
Don't go through Atlanta twice. Going up the coast through
Savannah, Charleston, Columbia, Asheville, through the Smoky
Mountains, is only a few miles longer than I-75, and a lot
more interesting. Also takes you near Cape Canaveral (NASA)
and St. Augustine. You can compare Ocala horses with
Lexington horses.
Berea College (KY) has a nice restaurant, and on the other
side of I-75 is Cumberland Falls
