Hi John,

In the Leica world, maybe the focus module is considered specialised. But
that could be one reason why majority Pros who need long lenses do not go
for Leica Rs. There is relatively dismal backup support. There is no
other choices besides the APO Modular units in the current lineup. These
are great lenses though...but if backup is ever needed...watch out. I am
not a pro so I can still survive with them.

Cheers,
Paul

My 35/2.5 developed halos due to years of knocking about on reefs. I sent
it
to Nikon and it took them six months to repair. They had to wait for a new
batch of optical units to be manufactured. Specialised parts are not always
to hand and they may have to wait until their turn to be manufactured comes
up again in the queue.
