in the event my grip is lost the camera will still be attached to my hand.
Has anyone this same desire and if so do you have a solution?

Michael,

I have a short strap made from thin climbing rope attached to a threaded knob
that screws into the bottom plate of the camera. The strap (thin rope) can be
tightened to your wrist with a small plastic cinching "thing" (available at
camping/climbing stores).
