Simon, if you leave the slides unmounted then any of the chain stores(Rittz
in the Washington DC area) can scan them to a picture CD in about an hour.
The resulting CD won't be great for prints but for the web would be
outstanding.  If you must get your slides mounted then the charge will be
higher but if you are selective in which ones get scanned you can keep the
price down.
