I have a feeling that you are making this more difficult than it really is.
Yes the film will get caught on the rail, and that is because of the nature
of the film, it is plyable, not a solid object. All you need to do is jiggle
the film a little and it drops right in.

If you think about this anymore than you already are you are going to drive
yourself crazy. So please stop thinking about it so much, just do it.
