what makes this pleasing to my eye is the wraparound quality of the light,
particularly on the gentleman to the right.  from the description, i was
expecting a dark and drab image, this one is clean and bright.

the bokeh of the specular highlights above the head to the left is
more ring-like than i would have expected.
