Did you tone the prints?  If so, the stain my be from impoper fixing.  Also, 
I think that a 15 minute wash is a bit short.  What kind of washer do you 
use?  Might the prints be sticking together?  Have you tested your fixing and 
washing procedures to know that they are adequate?  What a lot of questions!  
I always wash for at least an hour in an archival washer to be safe.  I hope 
this helps.
