...as for the 'Made in Japan' label, it's due to the fact that this 
finder is made by the same folk that brought us the cheaper (and very 
nice) alternate finders over the last years, namely Cosina.

Since the one downside IMHO to the new Cosina finders is that they 
are larger (stick up further from the camera) than the Leica 
equivalents, I'll pass on the varifocal finder. What I like, though, 
is the locking shoe even though it obstructs the wind lever a bit as 
per your review which is no problem with the Rapidwinder.
