The trouble with your suggestions, is, if I had shot it that way, we would
have a Harley-Davidson advertisement

Street photography decisions are made in a split second, to stand around
making a composition the way you suggest means that you will seldom ever get
a very good SP shot. I use meterless M2/M3s because the extra time you take
metering with an M6 will usually mean losing the shot. Think for a minute;
see shot, compose, focus, fiddle with meter, duh--shot disappeared around
corner.
