Ted-
As a photojournalist, perhaps you can verify a story I once heard!
I was looking at used Nikons, years ago, at a store where the local
newspaper had traded in their stable of Nikon Fs in an upgrade, enmass.
To be honest with you, they looked like warmed over Hell, and one of the
clerks alluded to the fact that newspaper photographers would muster every
morning, on the sidewalk in front of the paper's offices, receive their
daily assignments, and perfom a 'Manual of Arms' of sorts,that entailed
dropping their cameras to the pavement several times during a bizarre form
of close order drill.
From the state of the cameras, I never doubted the story! Perhaps the tape
is there for the novice photojournalists in us all!! IF it would make the
chap any happier, might I suggest the Handymans' Secret Weapon- Duct Tape!!!
It works for every use imaginable- I use it on the rear of brake pads to
keep 'em from squealing, hold my life together, and my wife can attest to
the recreational uses at great length!
Shoot! A roll of duct tape and a sharp exacto knife, and he'd be set for
life!!
