I am the original poster of this question.  In reply to most of the answers
I've received;

I am not a "news guy".  I am a regular guy that likes to take extra care of
his investment.  And to me, it is an investment.  To many of you I'm sure
they are JUST tools.  As such, if for some unknown reason I'd like to sell
these investments in the future, don't you think they might command a higher
price if they were say close to mint rather than exc--.

You treat your cameras the way you want to and I'll treat mine the way I
want to.
