A Manfrotto (that's Italian for Bogan) 308 Ball head will do well with Leica.
The new G1377 M Magnesium Centre Ball Head from Gitzo can be gotten used to.
Now on me new Ries tripod with it's wide platform I've found the older style
Gitzo 376 off center ball heads to work out well as the verticals don't get in
the way of the tripod platform.
That's why it's best not to sell stuff. I also have there smaller 275 ballhead
which articulates a bit less. This will still work with smaller tripods.
Linhof makes great ballheads in every incremental size. They are modern classics
and as pricey as any photo gear you can find. Makes Leica stuff seem cheap cheap cheap.
