To properly print (or even be close) with an Epson, load in the profile 
for the paper you are using, these are available. First calibrate your 
monitor (the new spider works with LCD and CRT), then go to 
http://www.computer-darkroom.co.uk/; and spend sometime there(he has links 
to paper profiles). Using the auto setting in Epson is like setting a 
camera in the "program" mode.
