Two biggest mistakes I've made regarding cameras.
I had a Mint- IIIf BD, which had NEW CURTAINS and CLA by Leica!! --
before they quit doing them in the 80s....with it was a Mint 3.5 elmar,
3.5 Summaron (CLA'd), 90 Elmar, and the best imarect I've ever seen.
It was the perfect M-, mechanically MINT outfit I've seen.....Period.
Traded it for a "minty" M3, with 50...good deal at the time. (I had a
second, exc, IIIfRDDA, that I sold for $225 after I "quit" screw mount)

Last "mistake"---I bought a MINT- Nikon S2 with Mint 50 Nikkor for $65.
It was THE most pleasant "50mm camera" I've EVER had...light, sleek,
much more "finesse" than my "later" SP....the PERFECT 'carry' about
camera...truly like a fine watch. I sold it and the SP with a
35/135/finder for $500--again, to buy Leica.

Both these were damn good "deals" at the time (late 70s on the Nikons,
mid 80s on the IIIf/s) and I didn't think I'd ever miss them....

I still get an uneasy feeling when I see a III-anything or a Nikon
S2/50/1.4
