The Smith book is definitely worth it - Damn, did that man have an eye!
And as to the Capa collection, I have never made a secret of my feeling
that what's outstanding about Capa is that he was first - he was the
original modern combat/non-combatant photographer - and if he had been
third or fourth we'd all know a few of his photos, but he wouldn't be
the revered figure he is. But after looking through this new collection,
I have to say he was a hell of a lot better than I've given him credit
for being...as though that matters to anyone..;-)
