135/2.8 Elmarit-M #2656087 (11829) original box and registration
card; for some reason, this lens has lost its original high regard.
Here's what Geoffrey Crawley, Editor-in-chief of the British
Journal of Photography, wrote of this design in 1968: "Excellent
image quality is provided across the frame at full aperture, with
very fine detail crisply rendered. At f/4 microscopic detail covers
the frame, with some slight improvement in microcontrast at f/5.6
……this lens is a highly corrected medium high contrast type
capable of superb image quality, and not surpassed in the writer's
testing at its specification." It has not become a less-than-superb
lens in the last 33 years. Here's one that's like new LN $750.00
