This is exactly what I did!

Now I have a technically and cosmetically like-new M3, with new M3 (!) 
rangefinder, new external parts (top plate, bottom plate, back door, 
dials and levers), internal CLA. The only downside is the new vinyl 
leatherette instead of the original vulcanite.
