You will never get, via the LUG, email that contains a virus.
That is because the LUG mailer accepts only plain-text messages.

However, you can get, as a private reply, an email message from a person who knows you only through the LUG, and that private reply can contain a virus.

Anybody who has to ask "what is this odd message" needs to get better virus-control software. This new Badtrans.B virus, while not very harmful, is tremendously good at spreading itself. There will be others.
