Sometimes it helps if you say that you would like to trade this equipment 
in and buy something in the store for the money. They typically give you a 
better price if you want to trade your EOS in for a Linhof Technica rather 
than just walking away with cash... :-)

But obviously they don't pay the same as you would get for it on [that 
on-line auction site]. They have to make money off it too... But it's also 
less of a hassle to swing by your camera store and dump it all at once.
