Not sure where this is going but the RF CAM works the same on all Leica
Models whether or not they have goggles attached in the normal mode (non
close focus).

Your 35RF (goggle) and 50 DR Summicron will work and focus just fine on any
M Leica

The RF goggles on 35mm lenses just change the angle of view of the 50mm
field on an M3 to show the coverage of a 35mm lens

The Goggles on a DR Summicron depress a pin on the top of the mount and
allow you to adjust the lens to focus as close as 19"

While I do not have a TTL M6, the RF CAM (the wheel at the top of the lens
mount) follows the lens to 19" just fine on my M2 M3SS M4 M4-2 M5 and NON
TTL M6.

There is one other CAM on M lenses. This is the CAM that "tells" the camera
what the focal length is and brings the proper frames up in the finder.

A few early non RF 35mm Summarons (from 1954-55 quite rare and probably
collectors pieces) brought up only the 50mm frame (there was no 35mm frame
to bring up) making it necessary to use a 35mm finder...and, of course
because the RF 35mm lenses modified the 50mm field of view to make the field
of view for a 35mm lens this is the frame that is up (of course with an M3
this is the frame that is always up anyhow).

The M2 and later models (except perhaps the M6J) solved this...

Thanks Mark
