first, congrats jef on your m6 -- you have lots of options in the tight
budget area -- you can probably score a canon serenar 50mm for $100 or
so. you can also get russian jupiters pretty cheap -- i think the best
is the jupiter 12, which is a 35mm f 2.8, it seems to have the best
build quality of the russian lenses and mine is fairly sharp. the rumor
is that the quality control is terrible so you might get a gem or a dog.
you should probalby pay $100 or so for a jupiter 12. also there are the
cosina lenses, which are reasonably well respected, currently in
production and a good value for the money.... 

just my .02, take it for what it's worth.
