Hello Steve . I had the fisrt one . It was less firm in terms of focal
selection ,
and also the focusing ring seemed harder due to the lack of a tab , which
they
add on the later one .
Optically , the new is the same . Mecanically , it's a little shorter ,
thinner at
it's end , and as got a nice tab on the focusing ring .
The first version doesn't show any mecanical flaw and you can buy it without
problem .
