Be sure to adjust exposure to get the tonality you want. The hard way is to physically walk up to the structure, take a reading, then set up again. The good news is that building lighting doesn't change so once you have a setting that works it will always work. Then you meter the sky and pick the best compromise to expose the building and the surroundings, almost like fill flash.
