Maybe two years ago they tried to show that the vaunted F5 didn't need no stinkin mirror lock but the images showed a surprisingly large amount even at 1/15th. Second, if you follow the nature photography group they almost insist you either lock up your mirror or avoid the range 1/4 to 1/30. Even if you are using a large tripod lock the mirror up as the vibration is internal to the mirror chamber which on upper end camera's is attached to the film rails and the lens mount. Last, my macro work has sharpened quit a bit by following this advice. To get on topic, isn't it nice to know that the Viso system almost make you lock the mirror up prior to exposing?
